Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Santa Claus, Indiana
2006 Construction Update
August 28, 2005
There's work going on all over
the place at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari in preparation for
the park's 60th season. You can see The Voyage off in the distance
and these pipes are to enclose the stream in the background where it
passes the new for 2006 Bahari River.
Work on The Voyage has been
proceeding nicely.
I'm not sure if they are going
to extend this hill any further just yet because it seems that they
have stopped right where it is to cross where the track will go from
the station to the lift. I could see them completing that stretch
of track first before crossing over it.
If you look at the bents to
the left in this view it looks like they are working on the bottom of
The Voyage's first drop.
This is a view from the walkway
that goes up to Bahari looking east to The Wave. Just beyond the
bulldozer to the right is where those pipes are destined.
There's also been quite a bit
of clearing going on in the area that will be Bahari River next year.
This clearing is right next to Bahari Snacks and will take people into
the Bahari River area.
here may or may not be any
big updates for a while as next weekend I will not be at the park due
to other obligations and beyond that Holiday World is closed to the
public due to corporate buy outs. Look for a huge construction
update in early October when the park opens back up to the general public.
If I see anything exciting from outside of the park before then don't
worry I'll put it up.
