With two weeks to go until
Holiday World opens its doors for its 60th season there has been a flurry
of activity at the park. There aren't any really big things that
have been added in the past week mainly because at this point in the
game my guess is that they're busy with all of the little details like
this fence between the Pepsi Oasis and Gobbler Getaway buildings.
Also another Voyage train has
arrived this weekend. I'm not sure if it is the second or third
of it's three trains.
Oh in addition to the little details
that they must be working on The Voyage is now up and running.
According to the
Holiblog
they started testing it in the middle of last week so of course I headed
out on Saturday morning to see if I could catch it running. I
sat out on the side of the road for half an hour watching the beehive
like activity all around the Thanksgiving section. While I was
headed back to the truck I noticed some movement out of the corner of
my eye and was surprised to see The Voyage speeding downhill back towards
the station. It didn't go up the lift while I was there so it
must have been released from the safety brake after the turnaround.
What's telling as to how insane The Voyage is going to be is that starting
from standing still which it must have been it was really barreling
down the track.
