2006 Construction Update
March 26, 2006
One of the questions that popped
to mind during last weekends construction tour of The Voyage was what
about the above ground part of the tunnel after The Voyage passes its
mid-course brake? Well early last week the roof for part of it
appeared. It is a little hard to see since they covered it with
tar paper but it can be seen on the left side of the photo just above
the enormous pile of dirt from this year's projects.
Last week Gobbler Getaway was
nothing but the concrete foundation and now has all of its structure
and they are studding out the walls.
Gobbler Getaway is a huge building
and I can't wait to see it all together and up and running.
There also has been a lot of work
on the bridge over into the new Thanksgiving section this week.
From the looks of it the bed of the bridge is complete and they've been
working on the stretch heading up the hill into Holiday World.
While the hill hadn't really been touched last week with all of the
dump trucks heading in and out of the area it is easy to assume that
they are working on transforming that area.
Here's a wide view of the construction
site. There's just forty days to go until Holiday World's 2006
season kicks off.
