2006 Construction Update
December 4, 2005
Work has been progressing on
The Voyage's third hill this week. It's a bit higher than it looks
because there is a ridge between where I get these photos on the highway
and The Voyage at that part sits down in a little draw.
Things are progressing over
by The Voyage's station with some structure for the run from the station
to the lift hill added this week.
There were trees here last
week that have been cleared away for what is to be the Plymouth Rock
Cafe which is supposed to be the restaurant down in the new Thanksgiving
themed section. It will feature seating inside for when the temperatures
are the exact opposite of what it was today (somewhere in the 30's)
and will have a seating area out back where you will be able to get
a nice look at The Voyage. I hear that we should be seeing
more happening construction wise with the Thanksgiving section in coming
weeks.
With the trees all gone you can
get a new view of The Voyage's return run including its third ninety
degree banked turn.
That's all for The Voyage for this
week. My hat goes off to everyone that's working on it because
it's starting to be the standard cold and wet Southern Indiana winter
and I wouldn't want to spend my days out in it. Forget buying
them a beer, I want to send them gallons of hot coffee.
