It really shows how huge The
Voyage is since you can see it from the Raven parking lot as it is over
a hill and across a valley on the far side of the park from here.A few weeks ago at the annual
International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions convention
in Atlanta one of The Voyage's lead cars was the highlight of the Philadelphia
Toboggan Coasters booth. Isn't it gorgeous.
The Voyage is going to have
seat dividers like both The Raven, Legend and most of the wooden coaster
trains in operation today. But PTC has redesigned their seat divider
with this open bit in the middle which adds a few extra inches of hip
room. I got to try a seat fitted with these earlier this year
on The Legend and hopefully these have a little more padding because
after seven laps on the laterally force intense Legend I did have quite
a few sore spots. Thanks to Robert Ulrich for taking these pictures
for me.
There has not been that much
visible work on The Voyage in the past few weeks with the Thanksgiving
holiday and with work shifting to lower stretches of track. I
keep seeing dump trucks coming out of the woods dumping loads
of dirt here in the cornfield so my guess is that the Voyage's first
three tunnels are getting worked on. Hey what's that metal back
there in the woods?
From a different view it's easier
to see that it is The Voyage's third hill heading up towards the tree
tops. This hill is going to top out at a hundred feet tall.
