Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Santa Claus, Indiana
2006 Construction Update
November 11
2005
The Voyage's second hill has
grown this week.
There's been work going on
both ends of The Voyage. On the opposite end of the ride from
the second hill they have finished the bottom of the lift and even got
the structure up for the cross over.
Like I said last week that
it is going to be a pretty tight fit where the return track crosses
over the base of The Voyage's lift. You can see that there won't
be much beneath the crossover track but a few beams to hold the track
up.
I'm not really sure what they're
up to over here. The area with fresh dirt was dug out earlier
in the week and then today they were filling it back in. I thought
that was where The Voyage's second to last tunnel was to be but I could
be wrong. Also I still have no clue as to what the concrete structure
to the left of this photo is going to be. If you have an idea
please
email me.
Here's the VBC (Very Big Crane)
that's been working on the taller parts of The Voyage. My thoughts
are that we won't be seeing this much more as it was rented to take
care of the parts of the structure over 110 feet tall. Now that
those sections are complete it will be leaving and that is why it is
down in the employee parking lot rather than up in the woods where it
has been for the past few weeks.
That's all for this week.
Check back soon for more Voyage and Holiday World's new Thanksgiving
themed section updates.
