Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Santa Claus, Indiana
2005 Construction
March 12, 2005
The long cold coaster-less
winter is definitely coming to an end as the Raven and Legend cars have
emerged from their winter long hibernation and reconditioning.
I am probably the only person
sad to see the old Legend train sitting out in the parking lot ready
to be picked up and transported to it's new home on the Raging Wolf
Bobs at Geauga Lake in Ohio. I loved not having seat dividers
during the exit to the Legend's laterally insane helix as well as for
it's "four corners of death" ending. I just loved slamming
back and forth in the seats with friends. It just made for more
of a memorable and intense ride.
Well as the saying goes "out
with the old and in with the new" and here's a bunch of new wood
for what I hear might be some work on the Raven's lake turn since the
new carriage house and transfer track are nearing completion.
As usual with Holiday World during
the off season there is always something being fixed or replaced and
in the past week a lot of the parks old and rusted fences have been
replaced with some shiny new fence.
Work is also progressing on the
park's very own water tower with the base as well as the start of the
top being worked on. I'm curious if they'll complete the top of
the water tower and then just hoist it onto place? If anything
I have fun watching day to day how they're putting it together.
Work is progressing on Bahari down
in Splashin' Safari and I should have some up close pictures of it coming
real soon.
