Hersheypark, Hershey, Pennsylvania

One thing that I absolutely loved about Hersheypark is that there were entertainers EVERYWHERE!  From costumed characters to bands like this one I think we saw ten different acts during our day there.  By the way Hersheypark Band you guys rock.

"We came here to eat chocolate and ride coasters and we're all out of chocolate"!

The Great Bear Roller Coaster at Hersheypark, Hershey, Pennsylvania

The Trailblazer is Hersheypark's classic Arrow Dynamics designed Mine Train coaster.  It was added to Hersheypark in 1974 and has a ride that is mostly buried in trees.  There was no wait for it so whenever we walked by we had to head up the queue and take it for a ride because it was such a fun coaster.

The Sidewinder Roller Coaster at Hersheypark, Hershey, Pennsylvania

If you have read this site for a while then it will not come to a shock to find out that I really dislike Boomerang model coasters from Vekoma like Sidewinder here.  They are rough and I don't like inverting three times in rapid succession because all it does is make me woozy.  Well Hersheypark got rid of a large part of a Boomerang's natural roughness by updating the restraints where instead of an over the shoulder harness made of hard foam and steel locking you in The Sidewinder has a rubber vest that holds you in removing all of the "head banging" that comes with a ride of this sort.  It is moderately uncomfortable instead of extreme as a result.  Thanks Hersheypark.

Still is is quite amusing that right next to the entrance to Sidewinder is this "Danger Do Not Enter" sign.  Maybe Hersheypark is trying to tall us that there are better coasters to ride like...
