It is 5 am.  Should I be sleeping in the hotel about a mile down Seawall Boulevard or should I be walking the beach with my son enjoying the view of a new day beginning as the sun rises over an amusement park?



Which choice do you think I would make?



Of courser we woke up early, grabbed the cameras and headed to the beach.  I mean it is not like we get views like this in Illinois.



Our destination that early morning was the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier.



Despite being a bit overcast it was a wonderful way to start off the day watching the sun rise over a park that I have never been to.
