The Iron Shark Roller Coaster at Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, Galveston, Texas

Like its fellow Eurofighter coasters Iron Shark takes you slowly up a vertical lift hill and then after a few peaceful seconds at the top whips you straight down into a maelstrom of track.

The transition of from slow slowly climbing the lift to diving face first down is over in a blink of an eye and is quite intense.  Even I had a hard time keeping my arms in the air.  One of them always would involuntarily fly down reaching for something to hold onto ride after ride.

You are not down for long as Iron Shark shoots you back up into the heavens.

You go up, up and over as this Immelmann is the first of four loops that Iron Shark has in store for you.

Having a footprint of 214 feet long by 69 feet which could fit in your typical home lot and having 1,246 feet of track length it is a little hard figuring out the layout of this Gordian knot of a ride on your first few rides.
