The experience of having somewhere to sit down and relax is not
overrated at all and if you ask me more parks need to add rocking chairs
here and there around their park. They give parents a place to
rest while kids go off to ride, couples a place to hold hands,
grandparents a place to sit and remember what it was like when they were
young. These are places where experiences happen and memories are
made. So take a seat with your friends, family, lover or even a
stranger and make a moment.
Bond had to check out the observation telescopes at the end of the pier.
There wasn't much to look at pointing the telescope out into the Gulf
except for the occasional freighter but if you looked in closer to the
shore there was plenty to watch.
I was not surprised with the wind and surf up to see a few people
hitting the surf.
One thing that the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier took from its
predecessor was having live music as an integral part of what they are.
Several nights a week bands of all kinds end up out at the end of the
Pier thrilling crowds with rock, pop, country and more.
