Back up to the front of Frontier City it was time to tackle Diamondback.  To get to Diamond Back you have to go into Frontier City's main gift store at the front of the park to get to the coaster.

One of the things that made Arrow "Launch Loops" like Diamond Back not that popular with park guests is that they have to climb up six stories just to get to the station.  At Frontier City where they put Diamond Back you don't have as much to climb as the station is placed on high ground with the rest of the ride downhill.

It was half of Lightnin' Loops at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.  Lightnin' Loops consisted of two launch loop coasters that formed an X with the loops intertwined.  It opened in 1978 and ran until 1986 and sat idle until it moved west to Frontier City in 1993 as Diamond Back.

Oh a little tip for you when visiting parks.  If it is hot and you're needing a drink most restaurants at parks will give you a free glass of water if you ask.  So make sure you keep cool and keep hydrated when it is hot.
