Dorney Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania

With Bond unable to drive a real car on our tip due to the law that states that as a driver with a learners permit he can have only one other non family member in the car and we have John and Draven with us.   In order to work on his driving skills he took on the task of trying to not hit the rails on Dorney Park's car ride.

We are not done with the coasters yet as we are about to get stung by "Stinger".

Stinger is a Vekoma Manufacturing built "invertigo" model which is just an inverted version of one of their Boomerang rides.  The ride is simple as you get pulled back out of the station up a lift, the car is released where you fall down the hill and through the station into a boomerang loop that turns you upside down twice then a vertical loop before you climb up a second lift hill.  When the train reaches the top of the second lift hill the train is released to go back through the same track in reverse back to the station.

The big difference between this and a boomerang is that the coaster is inverted and Vekoma did something really cool and made it so one set of riders faces forward and the other set face reverse so you can sit across from your friends and watch them ride.

Those two changes along with a bunch of engineering tweaks make it so that I really like invertigo's like Stinger.  It is a fun ride and I'm certain we would have taken it for more than one ride had it not been surrounded by amazing rides like Steel Force, Tunderhawk and the next coaster we are going to visit; Posessed.
