Negative-G Dollywood Theme Park 2026

The Big Bear Mountain Rollercoaster at Dollywood Theme Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

You can get a little look at Dollywood's new for 2026 Night Flight Expedition behind Big Bear Mountain. The ride is an heavily themed indoor hybrid roller coaster and rapids ride. Having a lot going into the ride it was not ready during our visit and finally opened in August 2026.

The only thing that I'm not a fan of with Big Bear Mountain is there are absolutely no trees planted around the ride.

With a ride themed to an ATV journey up into the mountains in search of "big bear" it'll be really easy to see one with no trees. Hopefully at some point Dollywood will plant four or five hundred trees around this coaster to fill it in.

As Big Bear Mountain sped into the brakes I was absolutely in love with this coaster.

Big Bear Mountain is so much fun that I'm not surprised to see parks like Waldameer Park and Six Flags Fiesta Texas adding their own Vekoma family launched coasters for their 2027 seasons. Keep the rides focused on speed, twists, turns, and a fast paced layout and they will have as much success as Dollywood has had with Big Bear Mountain.
