How forceful are the negative-g's at the end of Mystery Mine you ask?
Well one second these ladies hair is flying back...
...and a fraction of a second later it is flying up.
Mystery Mine Is so much fun it really is one of the rides at Dollywood
like Lightning Rod that we really can't get enough of.
In all of my thoughts about Lightning Rod in planning for this trip I
had forgotten that Dollywood has a new coaster this year.
The Whistle Punk Chaser; named after a logging term which is apt as this
is dead set in the middle of Timber Canyon, is a nice little family
coaster by Zamperla.
If you have been to places like Holiday World or Silver Dollar City you
will recognize the coaster and the layout as it is a production model
coaster. Still it is a fun little ride and a nice addition to
Timber Canyon.
There is another addition to Timber Canyon this year and that is the
Dropline drop tower ride. It sits on the same spot where the
unpopular and maintenance nightmare Timber Tower once sat.
Dropline is a fun drop ride especially as you really don't feel the ride
come to a stop at the top so all of a sudden you plunge leaving your
stomach all the way up at the top.
