A Smoky Mountain Christmas

After a few laps by Thunderhead's
maintenance crew it was deemed good to go. The whole goal of this
morning was to get me and a camera strapped to my chest on the ride.
While we were getting ready Dollywood's director of safety suggested
that I ride it without the camera to get my bearings. So who was
I to pass up having Thunderhead all to myself. I can tell you
this nothing wakes you up like a nice early morning coaster ride on
a crisp December morning. Forget coffee.
Here I am being turned into "Robo-Enthusuast"!
What was tough was coming up with something to wear for the shoot that
didn't have a park or a coaster on it. I had to dig deep in my
wardrobe but eventually I found this coaster free sweatshirt that my
in-laws got me to wear.
My main impression of Thunderhead
since my last ride in 2004 was WOW it has really broken in.
Back then I thought it was
good ride but it was really rocking this year with way more speed and
airtime than before.
