Disney's Jungle Cruise borrows heavy
from the Katherine Hepburn
and Humphrey Bogart film "The African Queen".
That movie tells the tale of a British missionary and a surly steamboat
captain who are forced together in a mission of revenge that takes them
down a river deep in the jungles of East Africa.
Mixing a jungle river cruise in a steamer with some of Walt Disney's
"True Life Adventures" nature documentaries Imagineers Harper Geoff and
Bill Evans were the ones that brought this classic attraction to life.
Nature and a jungle cruise were two of the ingredients that make the
Jungle Cruise such a beloved ride.
The third ingredient that makes this ride so special is the sarcastic,
smarmy and downright cheesy commentary from the Jungle Cruise Captains.
