Growing up on a steady dose of books like Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer" and "Huckleberry Finn" or Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", "Mysterious Island" and "Around the World in Eighty Days" my dream was to leave my dysfunctional family behind and just go explore.



While I wanted to just go and explore I couldn't but sitting on Big Thunder Railroad surrounded by caves, mesas, coyotes and dinosaur bones I could be what I wanted to be for a little bit.



Big Thunder Mountain Railroad also holds the distinction of the first coaster I ever marathoned on.  With my Dad in a seminar and my sister and I turned loose on a really empty Disneyland the two of us rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad over and over for most of a day.  It is one of my favorite memories from my childhood.



You might wonder what I thought of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as an adult?



It is as good as I remembered?
