Chippewa Lake Park
Chippewa Lake, Ohio

The track closest is the section
leading into the brake run and the large hill in the rear is one of
the out hills. The Big Dipper was a basic out and back with a
few twists in and around itself going from the station to the lift.
Other than that and the turnaround the out and back sides were right
next to each other for a compact but long layout.
What was a little neat but
unsettling about wandering around Chippewa Lake and especially the coasters
is you can hear the cars making their way around the tracks. It
was probably my imagination but could feel a little of Chippewa Lake's
old life still there.
It was sad to see the park
but it was also completely fascinating to see how nature was taking
everything over that it could.
Closer to the station were
a few buildings which were storage sheds and office buildings and it
got a little freaky because I got to thinking...what a perfect place
for a slasher movie...in an abandoned amusement park. Actually
that's already been done in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 but that park
wasn't as cool as Chippewa Lake.
