More train tracks crossing
the midway and another fire hydrant.
This bizarre contraption are
called swinging cages except the cages have been removed. Basically
you would get in one of the cages that were shaped like shark cages
and rock them back and forth. If you had skill and some endurance
you could get the cages to swing up and over the top. The mechanism
is still functional so it'd be nice if these could be rescued by someone.
The cages were removed recently,
I suspect after the ballroom fire. Unfortunately like Idora Park
now that the ballroom has burned down the local authorities are going
to have the rest of the park bulldozed to the ground to keep kids from
exploring and getting hurt.
Buried in this section of the
woods is the park's children's coaster the Little Dipper.
