Let's see; we just rode the Jack Rabbit and now we're going on the Thunderbolt.  Are we at Kennywood?



The Thunderbolt is one of the few rides left over from the old Branson USA amusement park.  It's your standard Windstorm model coaster made by S&MC.



I have been on a couple of Windstorms like the Thunderbolt before and while they are fun coasters they have one element where they really shine.  I mentioned this to Greg without specifying which element and after a second of looking at the layout he said "The helix" and he was right.



The helix being discussed is the one in the middle of the coaster.  Most of the Thunderbolt is pretty mellow with some nice dives and turns but when you suddenly twist and drop down into the helix and then up and out of it it sends you for a bit of a curve.
