The Gatekeeper wing coaster at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

The Boardwalk section of the park is new for 2023 and is the culmination of a multi-year project that began with the removal of the parks old Space Spiral tower ride and the aging Disaster Transport indoor bobsled coaster in 2012.

As soon as the debris from Disaster Transport and the Space Spiral were cleared off of the beach construction began on Cedar Point's new for 2013 coaster that was named Gatekeeper.

Gatekeeper is a wing coaster designed by Bolliger & Mabillard.

Wing coasters place the guests on the outside of the track with nothing above or below them as if they are sitting on a wing.

With nothing above you or beneath you as you ride Gatekeeper really feels like flying as it plunges down the rides inverting hundred and seventy foot first dive drop.
