The last time we were at Cedar Point we threw Bond into the lake "baptizing"
him during his first visit to the Point but since he's no first timer
we didn't have to dunk him this time.
The beach was the original reason people started coming to Cedar Point over
a century ago and it's sad most of the park guests have no idea they can
go and take a walk on the sand or get into the water when they visit the
park. I do expect that to change in the coming years as Cedar Fair's
new CEO Matt Ouimet
said in an interview over at Coasterbuzz that they do have plans to
develop and highlight this under utilized part of the property.
Magnum XL-200 was Cedar Point's huge salvo in the coaster wars in the late
1980's and even though it's been dwarfed by Millennium Force and Top Thrill
Dragster this coaster still rocks.
I'd have more photos of Magnum for you all but I have a hard time pulling
myself away from the park enough to go and walk through the waterpark or
down by it's turnaround.
Some people don't like Magnum as it's violent airtime whips you up into
the lap bars; especially on it's bunny hops as it heads back towards the
station, but as Bond says "It's a good hurt".
