The Fury 325 roller coaster at Carowinds Theme Park, Charlotte North & South Carolina

The sight of Fury 325 towering over and being wrapped around Carowinds entrance really added some speed to our steps as we entered the park.  It is no surprise that we headed straight for this monster as as soon as we were through the gates.

The back seat tends to be my preferred spot when riding a hyper, or giga-coaster so that is where we headed for our first ride on Fury 325.

Fury 325 is the BIG reason I've been wanting to get back to Carowinds because this coaster looks so good.

The 325 in Fury 325's name comes from the height of the coaster's lift hill.  As I was Curious where the fury in the name comes from as well as the hornet that serves as the rides mascot.  Doing a little research it turns out that during the American Revolution the city of Charlotte was known as a "hornets nest of rebellion".  As Fury 325's experience is likened to a furious hornet chasing a target, the name and theme now make sense.

With a drop of three hundred and twenty feet at the bottom of the first drop you will be going 95 miles an hour.  If you really want to feel the speed, make sure to take at least one ride up front where you get to feel the 95 mile an hour blast of wind.
