The coaster in question that wraps around the Star Tower is Gold Striker. 



Gold Striker was added to California's Great America in 2013.



Gold Striker was designed by Great Coasters International and was originally planned for the park in 2009.  Issues came up delaying the ride but in 2012 permits were granted and construction began.



Gold Striker's first drop is a hundred and three foot spiraling descent with half of it enclosed.



The other half has a huge fence built into it blocking the views off to the left and something else.
