The Vortex Rollercoaster at Calaway Park, Springbank Alberta, Canada

This entire Trip Report was pretty much shoot everything non stop as we quickly walked from ride to ride.

Before we finish with the Vortex I will share with you one more memory.  Old Chicago's amusement park used every inch of space as it was indoors.  As a result inside of the final turn of the ride was a circus.  The grandstands went up to the track and I loved to sit all the way at the top not for the view of the show but to enjoy seeing and hearing train after train smoothly speed by every couple of minutes.

It was great getting to relive a little gem of my childhood and add another coaster to my count.  If you go to Calaway Park chances are you are going to get double rides on Vortex because they send every train around twice wanting to give every guest as much fun as they can.  You don't get policies like that at the big parks.  Service like that is why I prefer independent parks like Calaway over the big chains.  Here you get quality over quantity.

If you have to ask if I rode the Mini Express then you don't know me.

I will ride any coaster big or small.  While the Mini Express may not be a big thrill ride it is a fun little coaster to ease the little ones onto.
