Some of the time I spent while walking the park alone was trying
to match up places with my memories from my first visit. One of
the vivid memories was how a giant Anheuser-Busch brewery was actually
in the middle of the park. I remembered riding up into it on a big
escalator and the tour ended at a funky very 1960's looing building
where adults were able to enjoy the beer that was produced in the park
while sitting outside surrounded by the gardens.
The brewery and tour is long gone as it was replaced by Gwazi after the
plant shut down. This building that used to be the Anheuser-Busch
Hospitality House where the tour ended is still here. It is nice
finding something concrete from a long long ago memory.
Speaking of old memories Busch Gardens Tampa is one of the handful of
locations where they still have classic Mold-A-Rama machines. If
you have never experienced these it is an injection mold system that
makes a plastic statue on the spot for you. They come out hot and
with a distinctive smell but oh man do they bring back memories.
As the sun started to sink in the western horizon I finally bit the
bullet and hopped in the seventy minute long line for Cheetah Hunt.
Speeding to the top of Cheetah Chase's "Windcatcher Tower" a wonderful
sunset greeted me.
