The Verbolten Roller Coaster - The American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Con 41 at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Williamsburg, Virginia

Verbolten is one of the new additions to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in the time between my first visit to the park in 2010 and now.

With some wonderfully themed trains this Zierer designed coaster is themed after a drive on Germany's famous Autobahn that has taken a turn into something horrifying as it passes through the Black Forrest.

Like the trains the queue and station for Verbolten are elaborately themed with little hints as to what you are going to encounter on your drive through the Black Forrest.

Sitting on the same ground that the legendary Big Bad Wolf suspended coaster there are a few homages to that classic ride added into Verbolten. One of them is the winding downhill start to the ride.

Gently winding back and forth as Verbolten snakes down the hill gaining momentum is not the biggest thrill to start off the ride but Verbolten is just playing with you.
