While there are no Storm Troopers ahead of me on a speeder there are other sleds on the course and as the ride operator and signs state you need to stay eighty feet away from any sleds in front of you.  With a mountain coaster full of no one but coaster enthusiasts there were no slow riders holding up our sleds.  If that case ever happens the Runaway Mountain Coaster has safety devices built in to eliminate potential collisions.

The sleds have brake lights for anyone coming up behind and sleds can automatically brake is they get too close to a cart on the track ahead.

The Branson Mountain Coaster was built and designed by Aquatic Development Group who added mountain coasters to the long lineup of attractions offered when they purchased Alpine Products in 2013.

Even though myself and others who joined us this cold November morning preferred a no brakes approach to our jaunts down the mountain the ability for the rider to be able to have a fast or a slow ride is one thing that makes mountain coasters something that almost everyone can enjoy.

In addition to the Jedi-speeder run through the trees the Runaway Mountain Coaster has two helices along its course.
