Being the tallest coaster in the state The Tornado starts out big and keeps
it up all the way through it's 2800 feet of track. I was thrilled
with it and couldn't wait to go back for more.
I believe this ride is in the Federal Witness Protection Program as it's
in hiding. There is no signage for it. It's hidden behind this
fence and only peeks out once in a while. Maybe it witnessed a mob
killing and is hiding out here in Iowa?
I love this but there's no way that a park could do this today. You're
asking yourself what I'm talking about well let me explain. No, I
do not love this just because it's a totally fun Hampton ride like the ones
I used to camp out on as a kid. I love this because parents are admitted
to the ride with their children. Then once the ride starts they wait,
inside the ride area but behind a line. So when the ride is over you
don't have to go fight your way through the gate with all the other parents
in order to get your child. All you have to do is walk over and get
them and then exit the ride area. I'm pretty certain though that there
are standards and laws that would keep a park from doing this with a new
ride.
If you want to get from one side of Adventureland to the other I highly
suggest Adventureland's Sky Ride as you get to take a load off of your feet,
enjoy the scenery as well as watch out fir a few foot choppers from Adventureland's
many trees.
