Adventure Park USA, Monrovia, Maryland

This one began at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 1976 as Die Wildkatze before moving to Playland Park in New York,  Steel Pier in New Jersey and Williams Grove Park in Pennsylvania before coming to Adventure Park USA in 2007.

Despite being 42 years old and having moved five times The Wildcat still runs smooth and has quite a bite to the ride.

I think half the thrill of the Wildcat is due to the small cars that whizz around the track.  When The Wildcat design debuted in 1964 it was designed to have ten cars on the track.  Yes there would be at least half of them in the station but I would love to see one of these operating at full capacity as there would be non stop cars speeding on by.

When I was there Adventure City only had one car on the track but that didn't stop this from being an insanely fun little coaster.

I had a great time visiting Adventure Park USA and I added three really fun coasters to my list and I got to ride another of my favorite designers rides.  Throw in getting to show Carrie the capital and visit one of the most important and historic buildings in the nation and it was a pretty good day.

Now on to Coaster Con 41 for us!
