The Timber Wolf roller coaster at Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Missouri

No longer does the Timber Wolf have it's legendary "intense ride jostling" and a boring helix.  Instead it has a wickedly fun 70 degree baked turn that doesn't rob the ride of momentum and doesn't beat up/bore riders.

The Timber Wolf 2.0 is a significant improvement over version 1.0.

Here is how much this ride has improved.  Before this visit I had a total of five rides on the Timber Wolf.

2.0 is so good I ended up doubling my lifetime Timber Wolf rides in one afternoon.  It is now a must ride coaster that is so much fun.

A quick tip is to go for the back seat.  The airtime down the first drop is terrifying and the rest of it is filled with so much fun you'll be walking around for another lap.

Timber Wolf isn't the only part of Worlds of Fun that got some work recently.  The plaza in Americana was completely reworked with sadly a few huge trees gone.

There is a nice new fountain in the middle of it.  I'm not sure why there needed to be so much work here but my guess is partly due to the new Boathouse Grill restaurant that is coming in 2019.

Being honest I wasn't the most thrilled with the big addition for 2019 being a restaurant but what I think is happening here is Cedar Fair wants to focus on turning parks into regional destination resorts.  I think with the new entrance plaza, work on Timber Wolf and a new large indoor restaurant (something that park needs) they are putting the pieces in place to prepare the park to be taken to the next level.  My guess is in the next five years we will see a continual improvement in the park, hotels on property and after that then they will get back to adding coasters and really expanding the park.
