It's been a while since we had last visited Worlds of Fun. In fact our last visit was in 2014. As we were in town for BahnCon at Schlitterbahn Kansas City Bond and I thought we would stop off and see what's new in the World?

One of the big new really super exciting changes to Worlds of Fun hits you right off the bat and that is the new entrance plaza.

I know it is a little hard to get excited about a new entrance plaza as a big selling point for the park. I did like that Cedar Fair kept Worlds of Fun's proper logo and made a nice centerpiece out of it.

While I would rather have the large sum it took to completely raze the previous entrance plaza and create this one go towards a coaster; something that has not happened since 2009, Worlds of Fun really needed a new entrance as the old one couldn't handle crowds as small as it was and if you happened to be pushing a stroller or were in a wheelchair the steep incline really didn't make entering the park an easy task.

Here is the view after passing through the gates. My only real complaint about the new entrance plaza is they ripped out several acres worth of trees when it would have been nice had they saved or transplanted a few of them here to fill in all the empty space.
