There are quite a few more horses that need attention but I am
thrilled that t
he work of restoring this carousel that hasn't
seen fresh paint since before I was born has finally began.
There had been a debate in the park about restoring the carousel or
just selling it and purchasing a modern fiberglass carousel.
Fiberglass horses might be easier to care for but those rides have
no soul.
Each of the horses and chariots on the Grand Ole Carousel are hand
carved one of a kind works of art that everyone can enjoy.
The park will be better off taking the time to give each of the
magnificent steeds a little love and paint instead of going for a
quick cheap fix.
To those in management who argued against replacing this classic
work of art with a mass produced cheap facsimile I want to give you
my thanks and I can't wait to see this ride restored to glory.
