Six Flags St. Louis, Eureka, Missouri

After the long, cold and bleak winter off season Bond and I were both chomping at the bit to hop in the car and head out on a coaster filled adventure.  When Good Friday rolled around with school out and Six Flags St. Louis opening their gates for the first time in 2016 we hopped in the car with Bond at the wheel and we headed south with the town of Eureka, Mo as our destination.

By the lines we ran into at the gate it is pretty obvious that we weren't the only ones desperate for some sun, warm weather and coasters.

Six Flags St. Louis' Good Friday opening date and opening weekend used to be an awesome time to go as no one would be at the park.  Over the last five years with a lot of opening weekend promotions and a bunch of good weather opening weekend is no secret anymore.  While I would prefer the ability to have no lines it is good to see the park doing well especially since my hopes are that Six Flags corporate sends a lot of capitol investment this way in the shape of a really large roller coaster.

Even though this year is not a big investment year for the park I am happy to see Six Flags replace an aging and not as popular attraction with something that is certain to be a crowd pleaser.

That crowd pleaser is the new for 2016 Fireball ride.  We will get into a bit more detail about this ride in a few but first we needed to power walk up the hill and kick off our 2016 coaster season with a ride on the Screaming Eagle.
