Opening day has really become a special day for me because it's when all of us friends get back together after a long and cold off season and all the fun begins again.  Of course a bunch of us from the Negative-G Forums got together for Six Flags St. Louis' 2011 opening day.  Here's Mike, Chris (from Incoasterpaedia.com), Bond, Rider (with his head turned as he seems to have a knack for avoiding my camera), Lisa and Greg hanging out waiting for the ropes to drop and the season to begin.

At 10:30 the rope dropped and the running of the bulls commenced.  So where did everyone run to?  The Eagle, American Thunder (the new name for Evel Knievel), Pandemonium (the new name for Tony Hawk's Big Spin) or Mr. Freeze?

None of the above is the correct answer.  Everyone ran to season pass processing for what quickly became one of the longest lines in the park.  We all power walked through the crowd  and ended up just having a ten minute wait to process our passes .  It'd be nice if Six Flags St. Louis had early pass processing as it would get rid of a large portion of this line.

The rumors before opening day were that if we wanted to enjoy the Screaming Eagle we had better do it this weekend because it is going to be down until June for a massive rehab which will include painting the ride which has sorely been needed for a while.  We did check with the park President and yes the rumors are correct.
