Todd's fear of drop rides, observation towers and any non coaster ride that
takes you more than ten feet in the air is legen
dary so on this trip
we decided to give him some "tough love" and help him work through
his fears as a life lived in fear is a life half lived. He just fought
some of our love a little bit. That's ok because I spent seven years
studying Kempo Jujitsu and we worked a lot on joint locks and putting people
in a lot of pain.
After I told him to "Man up, Ya Nancy" he got on Acrophobia and
strapped in for one of the best, and most terrifying drop rides out there.
Oh, here we all are with Bond on the far left, the amazing Hikaru Chan from
the Negative-G Forums, myself,
Mike, Todd and Travis.
It's a nice relaxing ride to the top of Acrophobia as you get a great view
of one of the prettiest Six Flags parks. Then at the top all of that
relaxation ends when the seats tilt out twenty degrees and you're able to
look straight down.
Looking straight down you see that nice hard concrete pad hundreds of feet
below you and even if you've been on this ride again and again your brain
screams when it sees certain doom and concrete rushing up at you.
Of course the brakes kick in just in time for the massive flow of adrenaline
to surge through your body giving you one hell of a high.
