At 409 feet tall the New England Sky Screamer is the tallest of all
of Six Flags various Sky Screamers. Bond and I were going to take
it for a ride but with a huge ride we decided to go for the coasters instead.
We've already dangled from chains 200 feet high on the Sky Screamer at Six
Flags St. Louis so I can't see being another 200 feet in the air really
changing the ride experience that much. Maybe next time.
What we were not going to miss no matter the line on Six Flags New England's
north end was the Cyclone.
This coaster in its 31 years of operation has been both infamous and notorious.
Infamous due to an extreme layout that could be easily described as violent
when it opened in 1983 and notorious when Six Flags neutered it in 2001
with trim brakes and by raising the bottom of the first drop by twenty feet.
The Cyclone was Riverside Park's tallest attraction back in the 1980's but
the New England Sky Screamer makes it look pretty puny now.
