The Greezed Lightnin' Rollercoaster Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Louisville, KY

Our first stop was of course my favorite coaster in the park, Greezed Lightnin'.

Greezed Lightnin' originally started out as the Tidal Wave at Marriott's Great America in Chicago. Marriott had two identical Great America parks with the second one being in Santa Clara, CA.

Eventually Marriott's sold both parks off to differing chains and of course this ride went from Chicago to Atlanta before ending up in Louisville. The California Tidal Wave stayed at that Great America and was later renamed Greezed Lightnin' before being removed.

So why all of the talk about the two Tidal Waves? Well to rip off a line from the Dark Crystal: "Behold the two become one.

When Paramount's Great America removed their Tidal Wave/Greezed Lightnin' they sold it to Six Flags who intended to use it for spare parts. So this winter for whatever reason they took out the old loop and replaced it with the one from Paramount's Great America. Thus one ride out of two.
