The big negative to Goliath being pushed back due to the weather was
the morning of Media Day there was only one train of Goliath's two that
were certified by the state for riders. As a result we ended up with
one train with four rows roped off. Mix that with a very large crowd
there ready to ride and you don't end up with the best recipe for a lot
of rides. We didn't end up with the quantity of rides we wanted but
what Goliath gave was quality!
Kicking everything off Goliath quickly sends you up to the top of its 165
foot tall lift hill before sending you right over..
Unlike Outlaw Run there is no pre-drop dip as Goliath sends you straight
down after leaving the chain.
Technically Goliath's first drop doesn't send you "straight down" but it
is pretty close.
Goliath's first drop is a record breaker at 85 degrees which makes it the
steepest drop on any wooden coaster.
