This is my niece Allison. She loves riding The Whizzer and Ragin'
Cajun but has been terrified of all the other coasters after she was brutalized
on The Demon. Well as you all know most coasters don't beat you up like
that so we all took her for a ride on Viper in order to get her over her
fear. Despite protesting a few times that she was going to hurl on
me we took a seat in the front and headed out for a ride. Half the
way through she yelled at me "I'm going to puke" and I prepared for the
sickness but looking over at her when we hit the brake run she was all smiles
because at no point did she feel sick. In fact she kind of liked it.
So here's Allison with her first wooden coaster; Viper.
Raging Bull is always a must. Unfortunately Allison wasn't up to ride
something that tall yet but we'll work her up to it.
Joining Bond and I at Six Flags Great America was my Mother, sister Joan,
niece Allison and her classmate Katie and her father George. It's
a very small world because I've known George for years as he's a fellow
coaster enthusiast and he's known my family but never put one and one together.
A few years ago he went over to one of Katie's friends house to pick her
up from a day of sledding. When he was there Katie's friend's Mom
was watching a video that had a bunch of coaster pictures in it.
"What are you watching" he asked?
"Oh just a video my brother makes for the family every year".
Recognizing some of the photos from here he asked:
"Is your brother Paul and does he have a son named Bond"?
As it turns out George and Katie had known not only my sister and niece
but my mother as well as they all go to the same church. He just never
put me together with them as my mother and I haven't shared the same last
name since the 1970's.
Talking about family here's my sister Joan. She's not into coasters
but she will ride Fiddlers Fling all she can get.
