Raging Bull was a bit of a reminder for me as a father that Bond is
just starting to take his first steps as a coaster enthusiast and that I
needed to back off and let him go at more of his own pace. The thing
is it has been hard as I'm just so excited having him ride as I have been
waiting nine years for this but when I get too over zealous I'll just remember
Raging Bull.
Raging Bull is one of my favorite coasters not just because it performs
well with a bunch of air and directional changes but also it is a really
exquisite looking ride.
I know a lot of enthusiasts like to complain about the trim brake on this
hill but there is still a ton of air on Raging Bull even with it on.
Raging Bull has towered over the skyline of Six Flags Great America now
for a decade. What I find amusing is when I was Bond's age the Demon
was a "big ride" and nowadays it's almost considered a kids ride
with Raging Bull over a hundred feet taller than it and rides like Top Thrill
Dragster three hundred feet taller. What's awesome is that when I'd
sit in third grade daydreaming about coasters I had rides that big in my
mind. I wonder how big the rides in Bond's mind are that will be a
reality in a few decades?
