Every coaster enthusiast has had that one thing that they rode that totally got them into coasters well this is it....the Shockwave.  Before 1988 I loved watching coasters but the only two rides I could stomach was the Whizzer and the Big Thunder Mine Train at Disney then came Shockwave.  It wasn't the ride itself that got me going but the great drop.  It feels so wonderful to just let go of everything and fly down that curved drop.  I was hooked.

Here's a complete view of the ride from the Sky Trek tower.  When it opened it was the tallest, fastest and had the most inversions of any coaster in the world.   general it's a decent ride but it's location over the parking lot (please tear out the pavement and put in some trees!) and the section from the third loop into the brake run where you shoot up a hill turn left and go from 60+ mph to 0 mph in about a hundred feet is a neck breaker.  Personally I'd have the train go straight under the break run and enter a right turning upward helix thus easing the roughness.

Another thing that I love about this ride is coming out of the first drop you shoot up 13 stories into this fun loop.  I love looking up to see nothing but the ground.
