Speaking of snakes Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has Medusa.
Medusa; named after the snake haired Gorgon of Greek Mythology, was also
added to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in 2000.
Built over one of the parks old parking lots Medusa was the first
floorless coaster on the West coast.
Floorless coasters brought a breath of fresh air to what was getting to
be the tired genre of looping coaster in the early 2000's.
Arrow Dynamics and Schwarzkopf brought the looping coaster to the world
in the 1970's and 80's. Bolliger & Mabillard created a few looping
coasters in the 1990's but nearing the end of the century it seemed like
the style was going away. Then in 1999 B&M created the floorless
coaster and suddenly looping coasters were a thing again.
