One of the things that I enjoy is watching the creation of a
coaster from inception to completion.
Time Traveler began several years ago when an enthusiast posted video
of a spinning car attached to Europa Park's Blue Fire rollercoaster.
That got everyone speculating about if a spinning looping coaster would
work and of course what park would be crazy enough to build one.
The next part of this story is back in May of 2016 when I came on down
to meet with Lisa and Martha from Silver Dollar City after I took the
position of Regional
Representative for the American
Coaster Enthusiasts. They informed me in no uncertain terms
that something "big" was coming for 2018 and that I would "really like
it". As a parting comment during our meeting I was told to go and
take a look at the clearing that had just began to the north of
Thunderation. It wasn't a big surprise that all of these hints
turned out being a coaster. The question that was on everyone's
minds was what kind of coaster?
The question of "what kind" was answered mid August 2017 when Silver
Dollar City rolled out the story of this gentleman. Charles Henry
is a watchmaker in the sleepy late 1800's town of Silver Dollar City.
He and his daughter Emmaline; inspired by the literary works of Jules
Verne, lived their lives by the motto of "dream big and do good".
