Thinking back about it Wildfire was Silver Dollar City's first shot at surrounding
parks saying that they were not going to stay a "show park" geared for people
55+.
In 2000 outside of having a great dark ride/coaster and the worlds best
mine train there was little reason for your average coaster enthusiast to
trek all the way out into the wilds of Southwest Missouri but with a massive
B&M looping coaster arriving in 2001 we all had to notice.
Oh a little break in my thought process as here is Bond enjoying a lap on
Wildfire in the front row while I have fun with my camera.
Ok, interlude over.
In 2004 the half water ride/half coaster Buzzsaw falls was transformed into
Powder Keg and even more people took notice and it was not just the coaster
enthusiasts as Silver Dollar City started to draw more families from farther
and farther away.
In addition to the coasters Silver Dollar City started adding rides like
The Barn Swing and the entire Grand Exposition themed area that is filled
with rides.
