An Old Time Christmas

Now I mentioned food earlier. The food at Silver Dollar City
is some of the best that I have had in all of my amusement park travels.
For "An Old Time Christmas" one of the treats the park has are hot apple
dumplings topped with caramel and accompanied by cinnamon ice cream.
All I can say to describe the taste is "wow"!
When someone wishes you a "Merry Christmas" what they are doing is wishing
you; even if you are not a Christian, the joy that Christmas brings to them.
We heard those two words everywhere we went at Silver Dollar City and it
wasn't like Six Flags employees saying "Have a Six Flags day" because they
had to. Instead all wishes for a "merry Christmas" we received from
park employees were heartfelt and you could tell that being able to dress
the park up for the season and to be able to celebrate it with everyone
who visited is one of their favorite times of the year.
Even though you have to climb the hill to get to it from the rest of the
coasters we made sure each day to headed up there a couple of times for
a marathon on what is in my opinion the best mine train in existence.
I'd give body parts to be able to show you the rest of Thunderation's course
but this first turn out of the station is all you can get a clear look at
from off of the ride due to the trees and terrain.
In the Grand Exposition Hall Silver Dollar City was putting on a musical
version of the classic Jimmy Stewart movie "It's A Wonderful Life"
I asked Bond if he wanted to see it but he replied "Dad there are no lines
for the coasters. We need to ride". So we left the shows for
others and rode on.
Speaking of riding it is a crime if you visit Silver Dollar City and don't
take at least one ride on The Flooded Mine.
