Outlaw Run certainly has people talking as it is the first wooden
coaster with three loops including a double heart line roll for a finale.
I'm a coaster nut so I've known about this coaster since before it was announced
but when it started testing and Silver Dollar City posted a point of view
video of it on YouTube people got excited and not just coaster nuts like
me. After the video went viral and its opening garnered a huge amount
of press I was deluged at work with people wondering if I had heard
about Outlaw Run (Duh, of course!) and wanting to know more about it.
What was interesting is most of the people who talked to me about Outlaw
Run had already booked rooms and bought tickets for Silver Dollar City this
year after seeing the video. Many of them told me that hadn't been
to Silver Dollar City (or any amusement park really) in over a decade but
after seeing Outlaw Run they HAD to go ride it. So with enthusiasm
like that my prediction is that Silver Dollar City is going to have a REALLY
good year.
A tip for everyone visiting Silver Dollar City to ride Outlaw Run,
the line right behind that cool Outlaw Run sign is NOT the queue for it.
Keep on walking past the sign to the building and that's where the line
starts. The entrance behind the sign is for Silver Dollar City's "Trailblazer
Pass" which is their jump to the head of the line for an extra cost program.
The signage for that line is for is not that clear as people kept walking
in there and then climbing over the fences to get into the normal line.
Hopefully Silver Dollar City will fix that mess at some time soon otherwise
there will be a ton of line jumping this summer.
There is a problem out there in the hills of Southwestern Missouri.
It seems that there is a gang of outlaws who have been making quite a haul
holding up the Western Missouri Stagecoach Companies stagecoaches.
That's where you come in. It is your job to deal with the outlaws
with extreme prejudice . So hop on one of these custom coaches and
get securely strapped in with some extremely heavy lap bars (These are the
only lap bars you could use for a good bench press if you need a workout
as heavy as they are.) and get ready for the ride of your life.
For our first ride where did Bond want to go? The back seat of course.
My boy has awesome taste.
