Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Kansas City, Kansas

Here's Bond all grins after several laps on King Kaw.

As you can see there is quite a bit of open space around Schlitterbahn Kansas City.  When the park was announced the plans were to make a shopping and entertainment district on the perimeter of the waterpark making it kind of a San Antonio River Walk type area.  Right after the park was announced in 2005 if you didn't know the economy took a turn for the worse and as of now it is still in the planning stages.

One of the things that Schlitterbahn Kansas City and the other parks in the chain have that makes them worlds better than all of the other water parks is this concept of the "Transportainment River System" which makes it so you don't have to get out of the water to go to most of the parks attractions (the tube slides being the exception).  Almost everything empties out into Schlitterbahn's lazy river which is named the Krystal River and you can just float on to the next thing or just keep lazily floating on by.

Now you don't have to have a tube for everything like Elizabeth and Bond here as they enter the Torrent River.

The Torrent River is Schlitterbahn Kansas City's crazy mix up of a lazy river and a wave pool.

Going along with the theme around the park of repurposing items Schlitterbahn Kansas City turned a tanker truck into a wave machine with the addition of this big Archimedes Screw.
