Quassy Amusement Park, Middlebury, Connecticut

There was no cuts or scrapes and if there were it was all in fun so brush them off and go climb back up to the top for another go at it.

Quassy Amusement Park, Middlebury, Connecticut

From when it opened in 1908 to the present day the big attraction at Quassy has been the sandy beach and swim area in Lake Quassapaug.

In recent years Quassy has expanded on the desire to cool off in a little water on a hot summer day with several water slides and a water play area.

Thankfully the heavy woolen full body swim suits of the past have gone way out of style because they don't look that comfortable or stylish.

The Wooden Warrior Roller Coaster at Quassy Amusement Park, Middlebury, Connecticut

There is more than one coaster to add to your count at Quassy.  There is a neat little Alan Herschell Little Dipper coaster for the youngest coaster riders on up to take for a spin.  Actually this is a neat little piece of history because during the baby boom of the late 1940's and 1950's there was a huge demand for kids rides.  In order to fill that demand Herschell packaged their boat and rocket kids rides along with the Little Dipper to sell to parks.  The boat and rocket rides were designed fit inside the Little Dipper track making for a compact little kids ride area just like they have at Quassy.
